    Here is what’s on tap at RMC:

    Battle of the Axes 3/29/13 6pm 

    RMC guitar students compete in a guitar solo competition by playing to various backing tracks.  It all takes place on the RMC stage.  Fender  along with RMC have provided a beautiful new American Standard Stratocaster as the Grand Prize.  Stop by and see the action!

    Taylor Road Show 4/2/13 7pm

    Taylor Guitars is bringing the Road Show back to RMC.  This event includes an info session with Taylor representatives, demonstrations of the Taylor line, and the Taylor “Petting Zoo” – a healthy stock of Taylor Custom Made guitars you won’t see anywhere else, as well as the stock models from Taylor.  This is a great event & we had a huge turnout last year – get here early for a good seat!

    It’s cold in RVA out but here’s what’s heating up at RMC.

    New gear is coming in daily – Fender Custom Shop, Martin Guitars, Yamaha, Peavey, and loads of trade-in/consignment gear.  Stop by and play/see/hear all the new toys!

    We were recently named the #1 Martin Guitar Dealer in VA!!!!  We are very excited to have become the top dog in Martin Guitars.  Here you can find any Martin you are looking for & design your own Custom made Martin.

    We will be expanding the Rock Camp we’ve offered in summers past, to a year round program….look for details on this soon!

  3. Holidays at RMC

    Hey!  Some quick notes form RMC

    - We’ve got the tree up – it’s looking good around the shop.

    - Come see us Saturdays through 12/22 for live local Christmas music.  Check RMC for schedule.

    - Free Lessons on Saturday mornings.  Contact Stephanie @ RMC to ge on the schedule for a free music lesson.  804-330-7875

    - Loads of new gear.  It’s like Christmas everyday in the warehouse lately.  New gear from Mesa Boogie, Tama, Ibanez, Gibson,     Fender, and more.

    - FREE restring Saturdays.  Every Sat. come in and we’ll put on a fresh set of 6 string acoustic or electric strings for you – TOTALLY FREE!   * limit one per customer

  4. Back to school * Store Remodel * Martin & Taylor Guitars

    - If you’ve visited the shop lately you’ve noticed some big changes.  We are currently remodeling and are very excited about the new layout.

    - It’s back to school time and we have all the school band rentals you and your kids need.  Introductory Rental Rates are currently available and we have all the supplies you will need as well.  Contact us for more info.

    - We have received a handful of Martin Custom Shop Guitars.  These are one of a kind, built to order instruments that look, feel, and sound amazing.  Stop by and see them!

    - Sept 18 6:30pm is the Taylor Guitars Road Show.  We will have many Taylor Custom Shop Guitars on display.  Factory representatives will be on hand to answer all your Taylor guitar questions.  This is an event that only comes around every few years & you won’t want to miss it.

  5. HOT HOT HOT

     It’s hot…if you’re out stop by try out some gear & soak up some AC.  New gear includes Gibson    Tribute Les Pauls – 60′s & 70′s models – as one customer put it “…It’s a Gibson at an Epiphone  price”, also new gear from Visual Sound, MXR, Shure, Audio Technica, and more.  We have a huge cable inventory…so huge in fact the overloaded display actually fell over this week.  If you don’t see a cable you’re looking for ASK – we have just as much, if not more cables in the warehouse.

    Other happenings at RMC

    - Rock Camp has been going good – we had a good first week with a performance Friday afternoon.  Call to see when the next performance is and come cheer on the kids.

    - Summer music lessons are booking up…call soon if you want to get on the schedule.

    - We are now offering FREE SHIPPING on most purchases over $49 through our e-store.

  6. new store & more

    The Big news is our online store is open for business!  www.richmondmusic.com/store  Currently the entire acoustic inventory is uploaded, a few basses and electric guitars, a handful of ukes and bluegrass instruments.  More gear is being added daily.  If you find something and want a little more info just shoot us an email sales@richmondmusic.com and we’re happy to provide whatever we can!  Let us know what you think – we are also on twitter & facebook.

    Rock Camp is coming up quickly.  The camp is designed to give kids the chance to play in a band with other kids of the same age and talent level.  At the end of the camp we let them put on a show at the store.  They use a pro drumset, big amps, lights, and a smokin’ PA system.  Performances are Friday nights through the summer – call us for more info or to register.

    Here’s a short list of some things I think are cool that have come in recently….

  7. Fluorescent Guitars & RMC Grammy Connection

    Here’s the news….

    We recently received each of the four Ibanez 25th Anniversary Model RG & S Series.  These Fluorescent Limited Edition guitars will be displayed in a special display case at the shop for all to see.  

    Lessons are booming – with the addition of banjo and mandolin lessons, we have instructors for just about every instrument out there now.

    Former RMC teacher, Reggie Pace, and his band Bon Iver won the Grammy for Best New Artist!  Reggie and the band also recently performed on Saturday Night Live.  Congrats Reggie!

    Our Acoustic Guitar Room is getting a little bit of a facelift and is filled to the brim with new Martins, Taylors, and more.

    March 12, 2012 we are having an Eastman Day – Eastman Rep Tim Finch & Eastman artist(s) will be on hand to demo some of Eastman’s newest gear.  Stop by for great Eastman Day Only Deals!

  8. 2011 review and 2012 NEWS.

    First off we’d like to thank everyone for their support in 2011.  It’s nice to see people out there supporting their locally owned music shop.  Things are calming down now after a busy holiday season, followed by a trip to the NAMM show and placing our new orders for 2012.

    One of our main focuses in 2012 is renovating our acoustic room.  We’ve also been adding new acoustic stock DAILY.  Some of the latest additions are a full line of Martin, Guild, and Taylor guitars.  We have good stock of Gibson, Takamine, and Yamaha as well.  Come check out the new wood.

    We recently held a Free Restring Day.  Lots of folks were treated to a new set of strings put on their guitar by RMC staff – completely free.  Just a little something to give back to our customers.  Don’t miss out – we always put our event info on www.richmondmusic.com & our facebook page.  Make sure to follow/like us online!

    Tune up Tuesday is still in effect….basically you bring your drums in on Tuesday -and we will tune them for free!  You would be surprised how many people are out there playing drums that sound bad.  With a little tuning we can make just about any drum sound great.  Stop by and see David or Trey in the drum department for more info.

    Lessons continue to go great.  We recently welcomed Hugo Haggie to the RMC teacher family.  Hugo is offering lessons on Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, and Bass.  Give us call for all your lesson needs. 804-330-7875

    Here’s what is happening at RMC this month…..

    Back to school rentals are back….come in for a low introductory rate on all your school band & orchestra rentals.

    We also have plenty of marching band supplies – lyres, flip folders, marching sticks, etc.

    Sign up for music lessons – now that everybody’s done with vacation and getting back into the school year routine, it’s a great time to schedule music lessons.  Guitar, Drum, Bass, Piano, Voice, Woodwind, Brasswind, and more.

    Lots of new gear coming in from the top brands….Fender, Gibson, Tama, Pearl, Martin, Taylor, and more….stop by to see.

    Hope everyone had a good 4th….here’s what’s happening this week at RMC

    * New videos up on our YouTube Channel – demos, product reviews, tech tips, and more.  Check them out and subscribe!

    * Rock Camp registration is still open – Get your kids signed up today – more info on our website.

    * New Fender Pawn Shop Guitars in stock – the latest addition to the Fender Line is very unique.  These guitars are new reproductions of guitars that never were.  They look like something you’d expect to find hanging in a pawn shop or in grandpa’s attic….very retro.  Included in the line are a Mustang, a ’51, and a ’72.  All guitars feature humbucking pickups with a Texas Special Single Coil in the ’51.  They play great, look great, and sound great.  Definitely stop by and see for yourself.  Here’s a little taste……
